Support Ali's family: Refugees stuck in Indonesia
Ali and his family are Hazara refugees from Afghanistan who are currently stranded in Indonesia.
Ali lives with his two school-age brothers and mum, who raises and protects them. They are waiting to be resettled in a safe country though life is difficult after Australia refused to process refugees in Indonesia.
Recently Ali's mum became sick with kidney problems and contracted Covid-19. Because refugee support agencies in Indonesia are stretched to breaking point, Ali's mum struggles to afford rent and they often go without food.
Some friends in Australia, including myself (Safdar Ahmed) and other volunteers associated with the Sydney-based non-profit community organisation, Refugee Art Project, are trying to support Ali and his family, for which any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
$5000 will cover their rent for a whole year. It will help them with food costs and get mum the medical treatment she desperately needs.
Please consider supporting Ali and his family to access the necessities of life. Your donation will give them a chance at stability, education, self-empowerment and the future they deserve.
